Key Information

Day 1

To the ghost town of Kayaköy

Meet your host at Dalaman Airport and transfer to the beautiful valley of Kayaköy in southwestern Turkey, near the harbor town of Fethiye. Check into your guesthouse, relax by the pool then head out to explore the ghostly village and ruined stone buildings clinging to the rocky hillside. Originally known as Levissi, Kayaköy was once a thriving center which was then forcefully abandoned at the end of the Greco-Turkish War. Wander through this fascinating open-air museum on foot, then head back to your accommodation for the tour briefing with your host followed by a delicious dinner with your fellow travelers and get ready for your kayaking adventure ahead.

Day 2

Island hopping

Kayaking

4-5hrs · 7mi

Enjoy a delicious early breakfast then head to Karaot Beach for a safety briefing and launching. Paddle from island to island, crossing between Tavsan, Sovalye and Kizil Ada, stopping for lunch under a lighthouse. Continue to Aquarium Bay One for a refreshing dip before kayaking to a small secluded beach where you’ll set up your first camp.

Day 3

Paddle the Iblis Peninsula

Kayaking

4-5hrs · 9mi

Wake up early and enjoy a delicious Turkish breakfast, then hop into your kayak and paddle along several secluded coves until you reach the imposing cliffs of Iblis Cape. You’ll then visit a hidden cave and stop for lunch and a bit of snorkeling. Paddle on to Iblis Bay for your second night of wild camping and enjoy a sunset swim before settling under the stars.

Day 4

Discover St. Nicholas Bay

Kayaking

4-5hrs · 9mi

Kayak south toward Aquarium Bay Two where you will stop for refreshments on the ruins of an ancient harbor, then jump into the crystal blue waters for some swimming and snorkeling. Head for refreshments at a nearby remote restaurant before continuing on to Karacaören and St. Nicholas Island. You’ll paddle past secluded coves and the ruins of monasteries dating back to 500 B.C, visit caves and rock hop until you reach your camp spot next to a blue cave.

Day 5

Paradise found

Kayaking

5-6hrs · 14mi

Start your second-to-last day kayaking along the world-famous Lycian Way trail from the sea. The first stop is Blue Cave. Paddle through one of Turkey's most stunning locations flanked by beautiful rocky mountains. Visit a secluded cove and take a short hike up to the ruins of the ancient Lycian city of Kalabantia. Later, you’ll cross the first of the Seven Capes and reach your last camping spot of the trip.

Day 6

Cross the Seven Capes

Kayaking

5-6hrs · 14mi

Wake up early and prepare for the most challenging and exciting day of the trip as you cross the remaining six capes one by one. You’ll paddle along the beautiful shores and mountains dropping steeply down to the sea, stopping in hidden caves and secluded bays all the way to Patara, a stunning 7-mile long sandy beach. The journey will end in the afternoon on the shores of the Karasu River where you'll transfer back to your guesthouse for a post-adventure celebratory meal.

Day 7

Time to head home

Enjoy a well-deserved lazy morning by the pool in the peaceful and serene setting of your guesthouse. If you're still feeling energetic, take a short 1-mile hike to Cold Water Bay for an early morning swim against the scenic backdrop of Kayaköy ghost village, before your host takes you back to the airport for your flight home.

What is the food like?

In the morning, fuel up with a mix of Turkish and international breakfast options, including omelets/boiled eggs, various types of cheese, olives, sausages, salami, marmalades, and vegetables. Cornflakes and other cereals will also be available. Lunch is usually a Mediterranean salad, or you'll be making your own sandwiches or burritos. In the evening, you'll be provided with all the cooking equipment and ingredients to prepare your own hot meal and cook as a group at the beach where you wild camp. Dishes are usually soup, pasta, or bulgur/rice with roasted meat, tuna fish, or vegetables. Desserts, fruit, snacks, tea, and coffee are also offered throughout the trip.

Vegetarians, vegans, and other dietary requirements and allergies can be accommodated—please just request on your passenger info form.

What is the accommodation like?

Kayaköy

Spend the first and final nights of the trip at the comfortable and lovely Ensoinn Hotel, on the outskirts of the famous Kayaköy 'ghost village' which inspired the novel Birds Without Wings. The accommodation is nestled in a lush garden setting with beautiful flowers and trees. You can splash around in the seasonal outdoor pool, grab a bite to eat at the café or unwind with a drink at the bar or on the terrace.

Wild Camping

You'll set up camp on remote beaches and sleep in twin-share tents provided by your host. As this is really wild camping there are no facilities available - we advise bringing biodegradable soap to wash in the ocean and to be comfortable enough with finding wild toilet spots both on the land and in the ocean. Your guide will give you a full briefing on the etiquette and practicalities of outdoor toileting, and will provide the necessary equipment. For more information on this, please see our FAQs below.

Upgrades

For solo travellers looking for their own space, an optional private room and tent can be booked for an extra charge. See Optional Extras for the price. Please request this at the time of booking (this is subject to availability).

This trip has been rated as Challenging

This trip is rated as challenging as you can expect 5-6 hours of active paddling each day covering on average 9-12 miles. Sea conditions can be changeable and certain choppy or windy conditions may make the paddling and distances more challenging. This is a participatory camping trip, so you'll need to muck in with setting up and breaking down camp throughout the trip, as well as the cooking. You will also need to participate with moving the kayaks, paddles and equipment to and from the shoreline. It's all part of the adventure!

You will need good physical fitness levels, stamina and you must be able to swim. The trip is ideal for those who have tried sea kayaking before and want to push their limits but this is not essential as comprehensive instruction is provided by your guide. Nonetheless, we definitely recommend having a few days of sea kayaking experience under your belt before traveling. Day 5 and 6 are the longest days (14 miles) and will require some endurance. You will be in a single kayak by default. If you would prefer a tandem kayak, this can be requested with your host; these are subject to availability and dependent upon someone else being happy to paddle tandem with you, so please request this on your reservation form.

Challenging trips generally require committing to some training and preparation in the weeks building up to your trip. Building some arm strength beforehand can also help with sea kayaking. Accompanying cardio and flexibility training will help you be in the best shape possible to enjoy this trip.

Your host will alter the itinerary according to weather and sea conditions to ensure that you have the best possible experience. Turkey has a typically Mediterranean climate and is usually lovely and warm during the summer season. Average maximum temperatures for May–June are 71–79°F, while July and August tend to be hotter (although we don't run trips during this period). Even though Turkey tends to be dry during the summer, some stormy rains can be expected at the end of summer, and in spring and fall. Sea temperatures in Turkey are perfect for kayaking, swimming and snorkeling. The sea warms up from May–June reaching 66–68°F, rising to 75°F by the hottest months.

This is one of the best trips I have been on. I initially had reservations about my physical abilities as the longest kayaking trip I had completed was 3-day long. It challenged me however, it was achievable. It was choppy on day 1, and the swell was significant on day 5 (obviously more physically demanding - my hands felt it!) Everything was clear and well-organised, from booking to transfers, accommodation, food, group dynamics. Our guides, Vedat and Doga were excellent, and so funny. Preparing meals collectively was also a highlight, and I was stunned by the freshness and quality of ingredients despite the constant heat. I can't believe that they managed to get proper baklava to us halfway through the trip! So thoughtful and delicious. Seda, the onshore coordinator, did a fantastic job, and is a lovely person.

The group bonded really well and I cannot wait to meet up with some of them again!

Things I would do differently: take a book (my phone packed up at the start of the trip and I had no reading material for a week), do more upper body strength conditioning before leaving, remember to take my inflatable pillow, apply mosquito repellent (they were a menace in our camping locations). Things that worked for me: taking my inflatable mat in addition to the mat provided, a full brim hat, sunscreen (lots of it), and NOT bother with a sleeping bag (it was hot and a mummy liner was sufficient)

It was my first time in Turkey, and I cannot wait to go back for it truly is a stunning country.

The 7 Capes Turkey paddle was really enjoyable!

Turkey is a stunning country. Mountainous and very remote at times this was a chance to be about as close to nature as you can get. This wasn't always the case though as our route also took us by loud, party boats pumping out deep bass while the young clientele drank their holiday spending money. This contrast didn't dampen my enjoyment of this trip though as we quickly passed through on our 90km expedition.

Vedat and the team were excellent hosts for the group. Vedat prepared healthy and delicious meals and we then justified consuming large numbers of biscuits, cakes and various other treats because we 'needed the energy'!

The kayaking was over 5 days and presented a mixture of challenges. Some days straight forward, across calm waters while others required extra effort to overcome stronger wind, larger waves and longer stages. It was definitely challenging at times but only for part of the trip. Other days I would have preferred longer stages. Of course conditions will be different for each group. For this particular week, I do wish I had packed a book or my earbuds for the days we arrived at camp in the middle of the afternoon as this would have given me something to occupy the time.

Some of the camping locations were a little rugged with many large rocks strewn around beaches the clear reminders that this is a geologically active part of the world. Despite this, everywhere we stayed reminded us just how stunning this country can be even if there are prescious few sandy beaches to be seen! We were treated to some pretty impressive sunsets across the sea!

I have read many reviews of trips on the BMA website that call out the bond of friendship that evolved within the group during the trip. This was no exception. I loved the company of these wonderful people and am sure we will remain in contact. I include Vedat, Seda and Doa who were also excellent company.

There was a group that did this trip two weeks before at the start of June. They complained of being cold at night. We were well into the 30s °C through the day and early to mid-20s by night. It was hot, very hot and I didn't need my sleeping bag!

An Unforgettable Kayaking Adventure – Truly Memorable 60th Birthday!

My husband and I loved this kayaking trip organised by Seda and led by the outstanding guides Doga and Yunus. From start to finish, everything was brilliantly organised — their passion, professionalism, and warmth truly made the expedition exceptional.

The food, lovingly prepared by Doga and Yunus, was simply delicious — three fabulous meals a day, often enjoyed right on the beach in the most breathtaking settings.

Our group was filled with inspiring adventurous people and we really enjoyed their company and had a lot of laughs. The coastline was stunning, with access to hidden coves and places unreachable by land — a true privilege to experience. We were also lucky enough to spot sea turtles, pine martens, and even wild boar along the way!

The team went above and beyond in every way. They are not just expert guides — they are genuinely wonderful human beings who clearly care deeply about creating unforgettable adventures for others.

The trip was a perfect way to celebrate my 60th birthday — a challenging, joyful, and memorable experience.

Thank you, Seda, Doga, and Yunus, for a trip of a lifetime. I’ll treasure these memories forever.

This was a fantastic trip from start to finish with the incredible team from Seakayakoy. Good amount of challenge and so worth it. Our two guides were amazing and very organized. Food was fabulous (tons of snacks and good portions, was never hungry), communication was also great. We visited stunning coves, caves and beaches that we had all to ourselves. Always time to swim, snorkel, explore and just absorb the beautiful nature around us. An adventure lovers dream. Highly recommend!

Wonderful trip

This was a wonderful trip. The planning was clearly excellent and it was backed up, day to day, by very hard work and thoughtful help from our guides and, Seda from the land base. We could focus on enjoying the kayaking and camping while everything else was well taken care of. I really enjoyed the variety and quality of the food and the choice of places to camp. This positive background meant that the group members could relax and enjoy each other's company too. Just lovely.

Reading back through my journal ". . . absolute bliss!" Was one of the best trips I have been on. Being led along this spectacular coastline, ducking in & out of unique caves & coves, with endless opportunities to cliff jump & snorkel, it was the perfect antidote for the person who enjoy a rewarding challenge, to feel free & dive into some salt water therapy. After decently challenging days of paddling, gliding onto empty beaches & setting up camp, living simply, with only the occasional boat passing by, & even a midnight visit from a turtle. The trip is well run, guided & supported by the team at Seakayakoy. It really was something special.

I cant sing the praises of this tour more emphatically. The coastline in this part of Turkey is spectacular, and kayaking is THE way to become intimately acquainted with it. Our guides Vedat and Doga were supremely knowledgeable, unfailingly helpful, passionate about what they do, and each in a possession of a great, if distinct, sense of humour!

Not only that, but they somehow consistently prepared restaurant-quality food ON A BEACH. That's quite the feat, if you ask me!

Shout-out to Seda as well for handling all the comms and logistics and for ensuring we had a lovely surprise waiting for us at the end of our kayaking!

Do yourself a favour and book this tour. You won't regret it :)

This is my second trip with MBA and it was another stunning one. The colours of the sea are astonishing and the landscapes beautiful. You are taken to a world where everything is so simple: you paddle on the sea; you wash in it and sleep next to it listening to the waves as you drift off. One of our guides, Doa, played the Turkish pipe and watching sunset with his gentle music in the background after a great day's paddling is one of those moments you treasure for a very long time. Special mention to Seda for all the excellent organisation before and after (and re-victualling during) the kayaking and to our two guides who looked after us so well. What is wish I'd known before going: when they say pack light, they mean it! The group carry all the camping equipment, food, water (this was replenished once during the trip) and your own clothes. You have the front section of your kayak for your clothes, sleeping bag, mat etc. The back section is used for communal things. If you want something a bit different and haven't been wild camping or sea kayaking before, this would be a perfect trip.

This was my first travel and MBA experience and it was an incredible week. There was a great balance of kayaking and time to relax and enjoy swimming and snorkelling. Wild camping was a lot of fun, and the guides cooked delicious meals - I'm vegan and this was catered for brilliantly. Lots of snacks provided too. The extra day at the end gave a good chance to explore the ghost village and surrounding area, and also time to relax by the pool - there wasn't much time for this at the start of the week. Fantastic holiday - can't wait for my next MBA adventure!

The trip was fantastic. You get five days of sea kayaking, camping in tiny coves unaccessable by other means, some amazing views and points of interest. It's pretty demanding, five or six hours a day paddleing, striking camp, helping with cooking, and life in the wild etc. but that's exactly what makes it great! The guides were great and the people I met were a really top bunch. It's an adventure for sure, just a much better one! Very well thought out and organised, I have been with MBA and will go again, in fact I can't wait!

The guides were experienced an extremely knowledgeable. They had beautiful personalities that added to the trip and made it unique. The food was all locally sourced, fresh and abundant. The beaches we visited were remote and stunningly beautiful. I had no idea Turkey could look like this.

I would have liked it to be more challenging but would recommend to anyone, an amazing experience.

Great experience !

Our sea kayaking trip was amazing, fantastic organization, great communication before and after and wonderful guides. The wild camping was such a cool experience, its been a long time since i camped and I'd never packed all my stuff into a sea kayak for a few days but the whole thing was great. The guides looked after us very, very well, and showed us the beautiful coast and caves, and villages, it was all a unforgettable trip !

Great Trip

Much Better Adventures doe not disappoint. After being on a number of their trips, the locations are superb and the planning exceptionally well done from the office staff to the people on the ground. The Sea Kayaking in Turkey was physically tough with up to 6 hours kayaking in some big swells but the guides were absolutely superb and worked non stop making sure we were well fed and prepared throughout the trip. Credit must be given to Yunus, Doa and Seda. The Coastline is beautiful and the beaches idyllic and empty. Definitely worth the visit and would highly recommend

This was the 6th or 7th Much Better Adventures trip which I have organised for a group of friends. The trip was perfect, thanks to the exceptional guides, who worked long hours to ensure a wonderful time for us all. There are 2 challenging days of 22km kayaking and the other 3 days are more relaxed at 15km. All camp spots are remote bays and there were constant swim opportunities. Of in doubt juts book it.

Kayaking in Turkey

Just returned from the most incredible kayaking trip around the coast of Turkey in conjunction with Much Better Adventures. It was right on the limit physically in terms of kayaking in choppy waters and wild camping on pebble beaches but it always felt safe and was great fun!!! The guides and support team were excellent and I would highly recommend this trip 👍

An absolutely wonderful week

The trip was brilliant from start to finish. I added an extra night at the start of the holiday so enjoyed a really chilled sunny day by the pool before we started. From the initial contact to organise sleeping bag hire and through all the help with transfers and connections, Murat & Seda were incredible. Our guides for the trip Verdat and Doga were brilliant. The food was outstanding and every location for eating and camping was stunning. The group was great; everyone was friendly and supportive. This was my 2nd MBA trip and I intend to do more.

Being one with the sea

Prior to this trip, I'd about 1 hour of kayaking experience (obtain on a Primary School trip). This trip has convince me I've been missing out for 20 years! A truly wonderful experience that allows you to be one with the sea, yourself and the small number of like minded adventures around you. Fully recommend to any budding outdoor-er even reading this review!

Don’t even know where to start with this one…! The kayaking and Turkish coastline were out of this world. I’ve done a number of sea kayaking trips in the UK and Europe in the past, but the crystal clear waters and perfect temperatures made this an altogether different experience. We had all the camp spots to ourselves, and didn’t see another human for the entirety of the trip!

But it was actually everything else about the week that made it one I’ll never forget. From the charisma and professionalism of our guides, to the (genuinely unbelievable) camp food - the trip was run with such an impressive level of organisation whilst still being fun and light hearted.

Most of all though, I made genuine friendships with some amazing people that I’m sure will last well into the future. This was the first trip I’ve done alone for quite some time, and I was a bit apprehensive about group dynamic as a solo traveler. If only I’d known how great and like-minded everyone else on the trip would be (and how much fun we’d have) I’d definitely have booked this a while ago! 😃

The trip was a blast, from the time we were collected until we were dropped off at the airport Murat and his team were great. Their knowledge, passion and friendliness ensured a great trip. The route was well planned yet flexible when we had some testing sea conditions, the kayaks and camping equipment were all in very good condition. The lunch and overnight camping spots were beautiful and we had hours of fun snorkelling and adventuring around the different locations. The scenery was breathtaking. Our group was great and varied in age from mid twenties to early sixties and everyone managed the daily distances comfortably. It's always great to spend time with fun, like-minded people on an adventure. I would do this trip again in a heartbeat!

WOW ! What an amazing trip, everything was great from day one. We were met at the airport by Seda who always had a smile, is super helpful, and kept everything running seamlessly. Our guides were Murat and Yunus who are both terrific, hard working, knowledgable, professional & friendly. They went out of their way to make the trip even more enjoyable. Every time we stopped for a break they crack on, preparing snacks & coffee. At the end of each day we were presented with amazing food. Thank you Murat & Yunus. I felt very lucky to have such a great group of fellow paddlers. So many great memories and stories. Too many to write about. I highly recommend this trip, it’s just amazing ! I will definitely book through MBA again.

Couldn't fault our trip with the team. From pick up, information, getting equipment, organisers friendly and accommodating, 5 days paddling around the coast, beautiful scenery, great food cooked by the guides Murat and Yunis, couldn't ask for better camping foods. Weather apart from a little wind on day 1, was hot, plenty of swimming spots/snorkelling/caves, we did the trip in reverse, which was great as the long stretch was done first and the best bits at the end. Thank you all

A very well organised trip put together by Murat. We were so well looked after from start to finish and felt safe in the teams capable hands. From pick-up to drop-off at the airport by the lovely Seda. To the hours kayaking and the great meals prepared and cooked by Murat and his team. There was always plenty of food, tea, coffee and water. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all included but we would often stop for late morning snack of cakes, biscuits, fruit and nuts. Our flight was an evening arrival so we booked our own transfer and Murat booked us an extra nights stay at the accommodation. This gave us time to visit the deserted village of kayokoy and Clear Water Bay. Prior to the holiday we read the many reviews and can't really add much more to what's already been said. Two items on the optional kit list we recommend to bring are inflatable mat and pillow. Placed on top of supplied roll mat they make for a more comfortable nights sleep on the stonier beaches. The holiday is up there with one of our favourites. Not only for the beautiful scenic Turkish coastline and great guides but for the lovely group of fellow kayaker we shared the journey with. Thanks everyone for an amazing holiday.

Sea Kayaking October 2024

A fantastic trip with brilliant hosts and group. Solo traveller, 26, felt very welcome in a group made mostly of pairs/couples. The scenery is stunning, the sea so clear, with lots of opportunities to swim and snorkel. The first two days were too windy to paddle in open sea, with very large swell, so we stuck to protected bays. This shortened the distance, but was supplemented by visiting St Nicholas Island with 7 churches and mosaic, and a camping spot with walking trails and excellent sea life. Recommend bringing an air mattress and pillow of some description - sleeping on a roll mat only was a form of penance. Thank you to the hosts for a fabulous holiday.

Amazing trip, 10/10 highlights below:

  • The water was crystal clear blue, when ever you looked over the side of your kayak you were always mesmerised by the blue, and quite often you could see 10-15 metres down to the sea floor.
  • Waking up everyday on a new beach and unzipping your tent to the sunrise colours in the sky, and then walking down the beach for a morning swim. I wish I could wake up like this everyday
  • The paddle days were great distances, challenging enough so you feel like you have earnt your relax on the beach and delicious meal, but not too hard that you feel exhausted.
  • The lovely group of people we were with, everyone was like-minded and enjoyed having a laugh in the day and star gazing at night
  • The guides Murat, Josh, Doa, Seda (sorry about spellings!) were all amazing: super friendly, went over and above to make sure we had the best time and the whole operation ran perfectly.
  • My boyfriend also proposed on this trip out on the kayaks one sunset, making it all extra special!
  • We also really enjoyed staying 1 extra day to go up Babadağ and enjoyed some local cuisine in Fethiye

The trip was epic. The scenery was beautiful and the paddling great fun.

Murat and Coşkun worked tirelessly to look after us. They cooked great food for us and always ate last when they must have felt exhausted. We were also supported by the wonderful Seda who delivered us much needed supplies when camping.

I felt very lucky with our guides and group we seemed to bond really quickly. It included some naughty Lebanese who would squirt you with a water cannon if you weren’t watching. A photo of them has been included just in case they come back on future trips !!!

We had a couple of grade 3 days but everyone threw themselves into the adventure and it was an absolutely blast. Come with a positive, can do attitude and enjoy a beautiful coastline led by great guides.

Absolutely Fantastic!

This was my first multi-day kayaking trip. The weather was stunning! The guides amazing! The food 5 star! The equipment perfect! The blue of the water magnificent!

This trip was exceptional! Verdat and Josh were the best guides. Patient and most helpful.

Thank you for such a spectacular trip! And Seda, Love you to death! Keep smiling! :)

We partner with the World Land Trust to ensure this trip achieves Net-Zero emissions. We also support their Buy an Acre program, helping local communities to buy and protect natural habitats in perpetuity.

What's the number?
It works out on average at 135kg of CO2 emissions per person, including all local transport, accommodation, food, activities, guides, staff and office operations.

The only thing it doesn’t include right now is flights and travel to the destination. We do make an overall estimate across all our customers separately, but as we don’t book flights, have customers from all corners of the world, and no way of reliably knowing their travel plans, we simply can’t include an individual number in the figure on display here. We’ve got a goal to fix that, so that when you book, there is a way to measure and mitigate the carbon emitted by your flight too.

But what does the number mean?
Yep, hard to picture eh? To give you an idea:

  • Driving 1000 miles/1609km would be approximately 281kg of CO2 in an average car (or 140.5kg per person, if there were two of you in it).
  • A return economy class flight between London and New York would be approximately 1619kg (1.66 tonnes) per person.
  • 10 trees in a temperate forest are estimated to remove approximately 250kg of CO2 from the air in a period of 5-10 years.

What are we doing about it?
Our trips are relatively low-carbon by design, and we're working with all our hosts to develop long term carbon reduction plans. We partner with the World Land Trust to ensure this trip achieves Net-Zero emissions. We also support their Buy an Acre programme, helping local communities to buy and protect natural habitats in perpetuity, ensuring the protection of the reserve and its wildlife.

Want to know more?
Amazingly, no international travel company has ever publicly published their carbon measurements before, as far as we know. We believe that must change, quickly. So we’re openly sharing the method we used in the hope that other companies will be able to more easily follow suit and build on what we've done so far. You'll find it all here.

You'll be kayaking in a single or double sea kayak with or without rudder (Wilderness Systems Tsunami, Tempest or Polaris). The type of kayak that you use will be advised by your guide based on your experience level and forecasted weather/sea conditions. Sea Kayaks are outfitted well with multiple hatches and deck layouts to maximize storage space and access.

If you weigh more than 275 lbs or are over 6 ft tall, please check with us before making a reservation for this trip as we'll need to ensure that the kayaks and equipment provided are suitable for your comfort and safety.

Yes, the ability to swim is a mandatory safety requirement to participate in this tour.

Marta Marinelli, raised in Italy’s serene Prosecco Hills, dreamt of global adventures, inspired by her father's travel stories. Her passion evolved into a career, backed by a decade of studies including degrees in international tourism and destination management. She’s worked in the adventure travel sector since 2012, living in Italy, the UK, and now sunny Portugal.

Over twenty years, Marta has explored over 55 countries, visiting remote areas like Ghana, Rwanda, Sao Tome and Principe, Haiti and Nepal’s Upper Mustang region. As a Senior Adventure Expansion Manager at Much Better Adventures, she focuses on creating life-changing experiences, ranging from multi-activity adventures, challenging treks to ultimate adventures in iconic places. She loves the challenge of finding the best local adventure hosts around the world, collaborating on adventures that offer genuine immersion, pushing beyond the beaten path and working on exclusive itineraries that challenge your comfort zone.

What makes her tick? Enabling people to live adventure-rich lives while positively impacting and empowering local communities around the world, generating sustainable opportunities for both the host, guides, community, and the environment.

Absolutely. Anything you don't need on the kayaking journey can be left at your host's basecamp and will be kept safe until the end of your trip. You won't have access to your luggage during the camping nights - kayaks will be filled with your personal stuff, camping gear, and food/water so we recommend packing light and bringing only essential items. You'll be provided with a 1 x 10 liter and 1 x 15 liter dry bags to pack your clothes.

Unfortunately, there are very few freshwater sources on the route, and they may be dry at any time. Therefore, the group will be carrying drinking water in kayak hatches, using 5-liter containers which will be refilled at the host's base camp before the tour.

You will most often set up tents provided by your host on the remote beaches accessible only from the sea. You will be assisted by your guide to set up the camp if you don’t have previous experience. Because the campsites are usually in pristine or wild areas, there are no toilet or shower facilities (although, every once in a while the expedition group may find facilities in more urban beaches). Expect to go to the toilet outdoors and wash in the sea. This is real wild camping, and while outdoor toileting is all part of a wilderness adventure, it can have a negative impact on the surrounding environment, if not practiced carefully. For those who have periods, we have also written a handy guide, to help you manage these while adventuring.

Sometimes, weather conditions (rain or wind) make camping at the designated spots challenging. In this case, plans may be changed to find refuge, in order to guarantee the safety and enjoyment of the group. It’s all part of the adventure! Your group will be following the leave-no-trace principles of camping as best as possible in the situation. Due to a ban by local authorities there won't be a campfire during the wild camping nights. You'll be expected to cook as a group at night, assisted by the guides, and you'll be provided with all the ingredients, equipment and instructions you need. You'll then eat open-air as a group.

This trip operates in areas where daytime temperatures can reach extreme highs, where limited shade and high humidity can also be a factor. These conditions can affect physical performance and increase the risk of dehydration or heat-related illness. Your guide will adjust the pace and monitor the group closely, but hydration, proper clothing, and sun protection are essential.

Before traveling, consider your ability to be active in high temperatures and consult a medical professional if you have concerns – especially if you have any cardiovascular or heat-sensitive conditions. Arriving a day or two prior to the trip may help you adjust gradually to the heat.

Sure can! Over 70% of our travellers travel solo, it’s a great way to meet like-minded people.

Our team of Adventure Hunters co-create exclusive adventures which are run by highly vetted, specialist hosts. The trip is run by our trusted host partner in the destination. We only work with independent, local, in-destination experts who know the very best places to explore and how to stay safe. Read more information about the local teams we partner with. You’ll be introduced to the host straight after making a booking via the Much Better Adventures platform.

Much Better Adventures refer to the UK Government’s official travel advice when designing trips and monitoring trip operations. For customers joining from other international locations, we recommend checking the official travel advice issued by your country of residence, as guidance may vary.

We recommend checking out the country-specific information and also talking to a travel nurse.
