Adventure Hiking in Slovakia in a Weekend

A great weekend of Hiking. Beautiful scenery and hiking routes. Our guide Patrik was brilliant, so helpful and knowledgeable about the area.

This was such a fun and well organised weekend, highly recommend to anyone thinking of booking. Everything was seamlessly easy due to the efforts of Jan and Roman, our brilliant guides, whose passion for their country and care of their guests really made the weekend special.

Food was excellent, hikes were challenging and fun, the weather was mostly kind, and the company was superb, as is always the case on MBA trips. Slovakia is beautiful and I can't wait to visit again. Thanks Jan and Roman :)

Enjoyed every moment, even the steep hill out of the gorge and the bits were I got a tiny bit nervous 😀. Andy and Jaro our guides were great. Highly recommended.

Still on a high from such a great trip. Andy & Jaro were fantastic guides who knew a lot about the area and were very helpful. I loved that the hikes were varied with bridges, ladders, forest and paths it kept us present in moment with nature and wanting more. Our group was fantastic and the shared laughter and fun made the trip one to remember!

Loved everything about it

The whole journey was stress-free. From meeting the guides at the airport arrivals to being dropped back, every step was well planned, thoughtful for everyone involved and a well balanced combination of adventure, relaxing time, and chances to experience the country through it's food, drink and rich local history.

Slovakia in all it's grandeur is breathtakingly beautiful. The hikes were moderately challenging, and definitely not for anyone with a fear of heights due to the ladders you have to scale! The lush green forests, the crisp clean air and crystal clear streams through the gorges, the panoramic views over the national park to the distant mountains. . . It's something you really have to see to believe.

The guides, Patrick and Peter, were knowledge, passionate about their country and all it has to offer, and adapted the hikes day-to-day to make sure everyone's capabilities and paces were accounted for.

We were so incredibly impressed by them both, by Much Better Adventures' organisation and clear information on the lead up to the trip, and I cannot recommend this trip enough.

We will certainly be returning to Slovakia to see more of it!

An excellent weekend of Hiking! The routes we took through the gorges and canyons were very fun, and certainly unique.

The weather was not ideal, but our guides managed to re-jig the itinerary so we still got to do all of the best hikes without getting too wet.

Just got back from an incredible hiking trip in Slovakia and wow — what an experience! The trails were absolutely stunning, from misty forests to jaw-dropping mountain views that felt straight out of a dream. Every turn had something new to offer — wildflowers, waterfalls, and those epic panoramic moments where you just have to stop and soak it all in.

The air felt cleaner, the vibe was peaceful, and the connection to nature was real. Met some great people along the way, ate some surprisingly good local food (hello bryndzové halušky!), and just totally recharged. If you’re into hiking, nature, or just need to hit reset, Slovakia is seriously underrated. Already planning my next trip back!

Had an unforgettable time hiking through Slovenia with our fantastic guides, Patrik and Michal. Their knowledge, energy, and humour made every trail enjoyable. The scenery was stunning and the group itself was a great mix of friendly, like-minded adventurers.

Patrik and Michal created the perfect atmosphere for both challenge and fun. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience — highly recommended!

A bit like an enormous adult playground- wonderful walks (and wildlife spotting) with ladders and balancing across the platforms. Our guide was lovely- the accommodation was more luxurious than I had expected and the food was great too. . ,

Really good long weekend hiking in Slovakia everything was as described on the itinerary, our guide Patrik was brilliant and made everyone feel at ease and also made sure I was looked after as I have a gluten intolerance he was clued up on it and I felt comfortable and trusted him when he checked food in restaurants and shops.

Trekking in Slovakia was an incredible experience. The country is extremely beautiful with scenery to rival the best of Canada or the USA. Our guides Tom and Peter were very professional, knowledgeable and great company. The hiking through gorges and ladder climbs were wonderful, each day offering something different. The group quickly bonded, and were great fun. We had a truly amazing adventure and will be booking more travel through Much Better Adventures soon. From beginning to end the organisation of this trip was outstanding, with enough wriggle room to accommodate some individual’s needs. The guides were very knowledgeable and trustworthy and made me feel completely safe doing some new, fairly challenging activities. I loved every minute of this trip and I would highly recommend it.

So enjoyed this short trip. It exceeded all my expectations. The group were great fun, the guides Tom and Peter were fabulous and the itinerary was very well thought out with a good balance between free time and activities. Our guides, Tom and Peter, were amazing, they catered to all our needs and were very well organised, to the point of feeling spoilt. The whole hike was beautiful, not difficult, though with technical elements and surprising moments along the way, which kept the hike exciting. I highly recommend this trip.

The local guides Tom & Peter were very accommodating and informative, their knowledge of the area was incredible and helped us to navigate with ease. From guidance on the trails, telling us about the history of the region, advice on restaurants and highlighting local points of interest - they had it all!

This was our second trip with Much Better Adventures and again was fantastic. A great tour company. Slovakia was a beautiful country and the routes we took led to some spectacular views. The ladder climbs weren't challenging and very easy to climb. The guides were great fun.

The town we were based in was very quiet- with the small number of bars closing early so we had early nights. Hotel was great with huge rooms.

The hike is on the challenging side for less athletic individuals and there were sections of the trail that were quite slippery and difficult to pass, even in dry weather. The guides were great at helping participants over the challenging spots, and overall I thought the tour was fantastic. The guides were also very friendly and had lots of suggestions for places to eat and other things to do in the area.

This was my first adventure trip with Much Better Adventures! It was such a magical and adrenaline inducing hike in the beautiful Slovakia National Park. We were blessed with amazing weather and fairy-tale like colours. Our guides, Patrik and Michal, were super helpful and chill. My highlight of the trip was the 14M tall ladder and 'Indiana Jones' type of bridges and walkways along the cliffs! I'm already looking at other mba adventures and planning my 2025 trips!

A hugely enjoyable 3 days hiking around the beautiful forests of Slovakia. We were extremely lucky with the weather and enjoyed the stunning views, sunshine and colours that the Autumn landscape had to offer.Our main guide Patrick was brilliant, very knowledgeable, patient and helpful. The ladders and routes were The hotel was super comfortable and everything was very well organised. We were catered for very, very well. All transport was also comfortable, easy and well managed.

Our amazing guides (Patrik and Michel) put so much effort into making sure we had fun. Everything went so smoothly from pick up at the airport to drop off at the end of our adventure. Nothing was a problem and all abilities were accommodated. I don’t really have a head for heights and wanted to challenge myself and with the encouragement of the group and some determination I managed the ladders and felt safe at all times. The safety briefings were pitched just right.. but read the trip notes to make sure you are able for and comfortable with the challenges. We had amazing weather which made the weekend very special. The hotel was great and provided a great selection of breakfasts and loads for vegetarians too. The start and finish were perfect. Just the right amount of free time. The group was managed ( but it never felt like we were actively managed) like clockwork… no hiccups, everyone found what they needed from the local bakery, shops, banks… everything was considered.

This trip under promised and over delivered. I will be back!!

We loved the hiking up the river with all the ladders and platforms! And the beautiful autumn colors of the forest in the crisp air and sunlight of the clear blue sky was stunning. Great food at the hotel too. And the thermal baths were perfect to relax after the hikes.

We had an amazing weekend with Patrick, our very knowledgeable guide for the weekend. He made it really fun and the scenery is outstanding. Hotel was simple, but clean and welcoming and had fabulous food. The town is lovely, feels very non touristy and the local restaurants and bars are cosy and great value. All in all, a great trip, worth every penny and would highly recommend

I loved this trip it was a fantastic mix of incredible scenery, amazing activities and great company. Our guides Jan and Roman were fab! They gave us all a warm welcome and looked after us brilliantly throughout the trip sharing their knowledge and passion for the local area whilst managing to set a pace that worked well for the group. I’d 100% recommend this trip, it was a great escape in a breathtakingly beautiful part of the world ☺️.

If you love hiking, have a head for heights and a good sense of balance then this is the trip for you, challenging but fun. The surroundings are beautiful and the guides were great. Levoca was a lovely town to be based in.
