Day 1
Welcome to Kathmandu!

Meet your host at the airport in Kathmandu and hop on a transfer to your central hotel. Depending on your arrival time, you may have time to head out and explore some of the city's sights before meeting your guide and fellow adventurers for a welcome briefing and dinner.
Day 2
Raft the Trisuli River

Rafting
Driving
Leave Kathmandu after breakfast and embark on a picturesque drive lasting approximately 2-2.5 hours westward to reach the renowned Trisuli River. Known as Nepal's ultimate rafting destination, the Trisuli River boasts impressive gorges and thrilling whitewater rapids, making it ideal for beginners. Upon arrival at Gajuri, begin an exhilarating two-day rafting expedition, paddling against a backdrop of stunning scenery. With a mix of pool and drop rapids along the way, there's plenty of time for quick swimming stops or simply soaking up the breathtaking landscape. Tonight, you’ll bed down in riverside campsite, ready for more water fun tomorrow!
Day 3
Rafting from Charaudi to Fishling and on to Pokhara

Rafting
Driving
Get ready for another day of adventure as you navigate the scenic river stretch from Charaudi to Fishling. As you paddle along the Trisuli River, you'll be surrounded by its captivating landscape, passing through small gorges and encountering several exhilarating rapids rated Grade III. Catch a glimpse of the panoramic cable leading to the renowned hilltop Hindu temple, Manakamana, before continuing by road to Pokhara, road-tripping through some mind-bendingly beautiful Himalayan scenery and terraced farmland. Settle into your lakeside hotel and soak in the tranquility of this beautiful city as you prepare for tomorrow's mini trek to the foothills of the Annapurnas.
Day 4
The Dhampus Trek, one of Nepal's best-kept secrets

Hiking
Yoga
Depart from Pokhara in the morning and embark on a one-hour journey by vehicle to Hemja, which marks the start of your exciting 3-day trekking adventure. Get ready to traverse some fantastic scenery of terraced farmland, stopping in traditional local villages including Dhampus and soaking in some superb panoramic views of green valleys and mountains along the way. Today’s final destination is Australian Camp (2,055m), where you'll be treated to panoramic vistas of the Himalayas and mighty peaks like Mount Machhapuchhre and Mount Lamjung. Unwind in your cosy teahouse, stretch your muscles with some restorative yoga and enjoy a sunset over the distant Annapurnas range, all bathed in a golden glow.
Day 5
Sunrise yoga and trek to Panchase

Hiking
Yoga
Wake up early in the morning to catch an amazing sunrise, followed by a session of yoga and meditation led by your local instructor amidst the breathtaking surroundings. Fuel up for breakfast, then set off hiking through forests, across rivers and local hamlets, including the traditional Gurung, Brahmin, and Chettri villages, giving you the chance to truly immerse yourself in the rich local culture and picturesque farmland. Listen to the chirping of birds above and keep an eye out for monkeys hiding among the branches as you approach Bhumdi. From there, you'll take a quick transfer back to Pokhara. Celebrate the end of your short yet soul filling trekking experience with a well-deserved drink by the lake, then rest up for the final leg of your Nepal adventure tomorrow.

Jalbire will be your playground for a thrilling canyoning experience, featuring majestic waterfalls, rock slides, and giant jumping rocks leading to pristine pools of turquoise water. Spend approximately three hours here before continuing on to Chitwan, Nepal's first national park, which protects more than 900sq km of forests and grassland and an incredible diversity of wildlife including ghariyals, rhinos, elephants, pythons, and several species of deer. Enjoy sunset along the banks of the Rapti River, tuck into a delightful dinner at your comfy jungle resort, before a full day of wildlife and nature exploration tomorrow.

Jungles and wildlife of Chitwan

Established in 1971, the Gharial conservation centre focuses on breeding and releasing these distinctive crocodiles into the wild. Next, board a dugout canoe for a leisurely cruise along the Rapti River, the perfect chance to catch your first glimpse of aquatic birds, Gharials, and other wildlife that feed along the picturesque riverbanks. Return to the hotel for lunch before embarking on a jeep safari through the wilderness and thick jungles of Chitwan, eyes peeled for local wildlife including bisons and the elusive one-horned Rhinoceros.
Day 9
Back to Kathmandu

Hiking
Flight
Fuel up on breakfast before a morning jungle walk led by a knowledgeable park naturalist. Immerse yourself in Chitwan's lush natural surroundings as you observe diverse bird species, flora, and fauna. Later, take a short drive to Bharatpur where you'll catch a domestic flight back to Kathmandu. Enjoy a free afternoon to explore Thamel's lively streets and perhaps visit the famous UNESCO Durbar Square, a cultural gem showcasing the architectural and artistic grandeur of ancient Nepal with palaces and temples. Celebrate the end of your epic adventure through Nepal and bid farewell to your fellow travellers and host over an optional farewell dinner.

What is the food like?

Breakfast in Nepal typically consists of hot porridge, muesli, or Tibetan bread served with an omelette or boiled eggs. For dinner, the menus usually offer a choice of traditional Nepalese dhal bhat (a mixed plate of lentils, rice, vegetables, and pickles – delicious and healthy), momos (Nepalese dumplings), mixed noodles, pasta, and even pizza, with additional options of local and international dishes available at hotels and in cities. Some of the included lunches during activities will be picnic-style; while on the trek, you are free to choose your preferred dish at the local teahouses along the route.
Dairy-free, vegan, or vegetarian diets can be accommodated, although meals may become somewhat repetitive – dhal bhat will likely be your go-to staple. Gluten-free/coeliac diets are challenging to cater for on teahouse treks (be cautious as powdered soups and seasonings often contain gluten, and cooking oil is commonly reused, potentially causing cross-contamination). Please communicate your dietary requirements to your guide so they can assist when ordering, and bringing along extra food/snacks is advisable.
What is the accommodation like?

Kathmandu
On your first and last nights, you’ll stay in a centrally located hotel in Kathmandu's Thamel area, usually the Hotel Holy Himalayan or Thamel Heritage Hotel, on a twin-share basis, with en-suite bathrooms, air-con and WiFi.

River camping
You'll spend one night in a wild and beautiful location beside the river at a fixed river campsite, featuring twin-shared safari tent accommodation with shared bathroom facilities. All equipment and bedding will be provided for you. There is also a communal dining area (with electricity) for meals.

Pokhara
You'll stay in a hotel near the lake, close to the local bars and restaurants, usually the Hotel White Pearl, Hotel Big Pillow Inn or Hotel Kausion, subject to availability. All rooms are on a twin-share basis.

Along the trek
You’ll be spending two nights in local teahouses, mountain lodges with a communal dining area and basic toilets, in twin rooms. WiFi, phone charging and hot showers are often available for a small cost.

Chitwan
Your two nights in Chitwan will be spent in twin-share rooms at the comfortable Jungle Villa Resort (or alternatively, at the Jungle Wild Resort or Landmark Forest Park, subject to availability). The properties are surrounded by lush greenery and near the edge of the Rapti River.
Upgrades
For solo travellers looking for their own space, an optional private room can be booked (excluding two nights in the teahouses), subject to availability – see Optional Extras. Please request this at the time of booking.
This trip has been rated as Moderate
An action-packed journey through Nepal's iconic beauty, cultural highlights, and some little-visited corners, this trip is an ideal introduction to the country without committing to a long-distance, high-altitude trek. Most days involve 4-6 hours of activity, with a couple of long road transfers and one internal flight. This maximises your time, allowing to cover a wide range of places and experiences in just ten days.
While rafting the Trisuli River, you'll cover a total distance of approximately 30km over two days. The activity is led by specialist guides, and all equipment is provided: including 6-9 seater rafts, helmets, life jackets, and safety kayaks/boats. You will encounter approximately 17 grade -3 and 3+ rapids along the route, but none of them are particularly challenging, making it suitable for both total beginners and more experienced rafters.
You'll also embark on a 3-day trek in the foothills of the Annapurnas, along paths and trails that are relatively comfortable underfoot. There are a few sustained climbs and plenty of steps, but the views are worth it, and all should be attainable for a regular hill walker or those with a reasonable level of fitness. The trek does not reach high altitude (the highest point is about 2500m) but you will still get some great views of the mighty Annapurnas in the distance. Overall, a good level of fitness, stamina and experience walking in the hills will make the going more enjoyable, so consider factoring in some training beforehand – we advise doing at least a couple of weekends of back-to-back days hillwalking.
While on the trek, you'll be joined by a local yoga instructor who will offer some morning and evening yoga classes, either in the comfort of your teahouse or outdoors, with stunning views of the mountains. Practice will include breathing exercises (Pranayama), common yoga flows, and some meditation.
Canyoning will involve sections of hiking, scrambling, abseiling, optional jumps, sliding, and swimming. Full gear and tuition will be provided; all you need is a basic fitness level. However, you should be comfortable in the water and not overly afraid of heights, as there is a 25m rappelling section to tackle (optional).
What will I need to carry?
You'll need to have a larger bag suitable for all your belongings, which will be transported for you, and then a small daypack to carry personal items during each day of the activity. We recommend bringing an additional small duffel bag or 40L rucksack where you can pack your overnight kit during the trekking section of this trip, which will be carried for you by a porter (on a 2:1 basis).
The best time to visit this part of the Himalayas is before or after the monsoon season, which runs through July and August. The months of March to May and late September to November tend to be dry and pleasant for trekking and all the other included activities. In the cities and valleys, you can expect daytime temperatures of around 25-30°C. As you climb into the mountains, this will drop the higher you go. The higher villages on the trek may reach temperatures close to freezing overnight. Of course, mountain weather is notoriously hard to predict, so do come prepared for all conditions.
Please note that you may encounter higher temperatures above 30°C and high humidity in Chitwan, but the wildlife tracking activities there are leisurely, with plenty of time to relax in the comfort of your jungle resort.
Exploring Nepal with MBA: A Perfect Blend of Thrill and Culture
This MBA trip is perfect for anyone wanting to experience Nepal’s rich culture, stunning mountains, and exciting outdoor activities. It was my third MBA trip, and like the others, the people made it truly special! The tour pace was excellent, with minimal travel time between destinations. Our guide, Kush, was outstanding—he kept us informed, explained everything in detail, and made sure everyone (including himself) felt part of the group. Highlights for me included:
- A multi-day rafting adventure
- Trekking and staying in cozy tea houses
- Thrilling canyoning
- Spotting a rhino in the wild
- Packing If you’re looking for an unforgettable mix of adventure and culture, this trip is a must!
An amazing adventure for MBA newbies and seasoned group travellers!
This was my first MBA trip, and it has set the bar incredibly high. I had the best time, and I loved the mix of activities on the trip (rafting, trekking, yoga, canyoning, safari, + also some time to self explore a bit in some places). I have travelled on my own, and never done more than a couple of days as part of a group, so was a little apprehensive, but the group was absolutely fantastic and a lot of fun - I am now super keen to book another MBA trip! Kush, group leader, from Freedom Adventures really made everyone feel welcome, and got involved in all parts of the adventure, which I think also had the benefit of bringing the group together. His knowledge and guidance also made the trip feel super relaxing, and where needed, well informed. I was on the MBA trip with Rob who has summed up the trip and our experience as a group perfectly, so I would definitely point to his review below as there isn't too much more I can add. I would just like to re-iterate on the canyoning, I was a little bit concerned given previous reviews given I had no experience in this - BUT everything was made clear, and there was also plenty of time to ask questions if anything wasn't clear and support was given throughout. I loved it. Thank you again to MBA and Freedom Adventures for making this such a memorable trip - I fell in love with Nepal, and this was very much in part due to this incredibly well organised, and diverse trip. On to the next!

An incredible experience I will never forget.
Summary: If you're wondering whether to book this trip then don’t hesitate. You won’t regret it.
This was my first MBA, first solo group holiday. I picked this one because I wanted to experience Nepal without necessarily committing to many days of back-to-back trekking.
As every review seems to mention, the group dynamic on our trip was amazing. We instantly gelled and its impossible to believe we were strangers 10 days ago. I feel I know this bunch better than some people I’ve been buddies with for decades.
I'm active, late 50s, and wondered if I'd be able to keep up with my group who were all much younger than me, I shouldn’t have worried. The trekking was at a fairly relaxed pace and expertly guided. I never felt that I was holding the group back. The only thing I would say was that there is a LOT of slippery steps/ rock gardens to descend on the third day of the trek. I found these challenging but doable using poles.
I enjoyed all 4 elements of the trip. The rafting was exciting, trekking was wonderful to see the amazing scenery and experience the hill communities, the canyoning was amazing (more on this later) and I really enjoyed the safari at the end.
I want to make a special mention for our lead guide Kush from Freedom Adventures, the local company that deliver the trip. Kush was organised, gave clear briefings and always made sure that everyone was having a safe and enjoyable time. Kush is good at the obvious big things, leading the way, setting the pace, but he’s also great at the small things, the word of encouragement, noticing when people are quiet or when a situation is developing that he needs to head off. A thoroughly likable and inspiring individual who integrated himself into our group and became as much a friend as any of the other group members. He’s also an amazing athlete – (ask him about the Everest marathon!)
Canyoning: You will no doubt see the reviews from the October 2025 trip which all mentioned issues with canyoning. We arrived having read these and feeling nervous. Our welcome meeting was extended to reassure us that there had been a thorough review and the team all believed that the activity was safe and exciting. When it came to this activity for us we all felt that this was expertly delivered. There was a clear and thorough safety briefing before we started and then excellent briefings and demonstrations before each section of the canyon. The specialist canyoning guides delivering this activity were first rate, professional and inspired confidence. The activity is undoubtably exhilarating, but every one of us in the group felt safe and confident. I’m not sure what was changed from the previous trip but I can tell you that our group’s experience was very positive. In fact if I had to single out my favourite activity it would probably be this one.
Tips:
- If you have dodgy knees bring walking poles. The youngsters in our group were fine without them but I would not have been able to do the hike without them.
- You are supplied wetsuits for rafting and canyoning but you’ll probably want a rash vest underneath. If you get cold quickly in flowing cold water you might consider one of those 1mm neoprene vests because the canyoning water can be cold and the wetsuit might not fit you perfectly.
- For the safari it’s recommended to wear long sleeved shirt and trousers that are ‘not bright’ so either dark colours or khaki. This was not mentioned in the kit list and came as a surprise to us.
- We read the October group’s reviews and brought leech socks but didn’t need them. Suggest you might only consider if there has been unseasonal rain – which there was in October but not in November when our group travelled.

Super trip
Thank you for a very well organised adventure through Nepal. Our guide, Sanjeet, looked after us very well, and kept us to our ‘schedule’. Beautiful scenery, fun activities, wonderful treking, with yoga to top and tail the day. I’m very grateful to a wonderful group of people whom I shared a spectacular week with. Thank you all.

Perfect introduction to Nepal
This trip is perfect if you want to visit Nepal but aren't sold on hiking the whole time you are there. It blends a mix of activities; hiking, rafting, canyoning as well as some time to relax and experience the wildlife Nepal has to offer.
The trip is put together very well, it's a full on week followed by a slower paced last couple of days at the end. At every stop along the trip both the lead guide, Sanjeet and all the supporting teams for the relevant activity were fantastic (with one exception which I'll come on to). The highlight for me was the 3d/2n hiking, staying in basic but charming accommodation, it felt like a mini digital detox, yoga sessions, card games in the communal dining room with a couple of beers made the experience all the more memorable and not to forget the breathtaking views which give a different appreciation depending on the time of day.
Sanjeet, the lead guide, was terrific. He really integrated himself into the group and I liked the fact he took part in the activities and spent the evenings with us as well which hadn't been the case on my previous MBA trip. With this being a new trip, he really listened to and took on feedback on how to make the trip even better, the vast majority was positive and only a couple of suggestions were made.
The canyoning was a bit of a mixed bag, this was no fault of Sanjeet, or Freedom Adventures who run the trip, but they are now conducting a safety review of this activity and the subcontracting who runs it. For me the first half was good, I benefitted from going near the back of the group so the teething issues of each section had largely been resolved. The second half I was then near the front and felt the mismanagement the rest of the group had mentioned in the first half. It's a good experience, it just needs a better plan and safety brief as well as more instructors for the size of the group.
Overall, I would absolutely recommend this trip, it's a perfect introduction for what Nepal has to offer, you certainly won't regret it!
Hi Jake, We're so happy to hear you really enjoyed your epic trip to Nepal! Your feedback is very helpful, thank you. We've shared this with the local host team and they have acknowledged some elements can and will be improved for future groups. Regarding the canyoning activity, this is currently being reviewed by the local host to ensure it will meet/exceed our high safety standards going forwards, and if not, they activity will be changed. The local host team have our highest confidence and they will get this right. James - MBA Operations Team

Fabulous adventure trip through Nepal
This is a great trip with lots of adventures packed into the week. Our guide Sanjeet was brilliant and made sure everything went to plan. We also had a lovely group who all got on incredibly well . the accommodation and food was better than expected. tea houses were simple but clean and rooms were twin , en-suite. Highlights were the rafting and the campsite we stayed at was really good - team were amazing . Scenery on the trek was spectacular and we did luck out with the weather. our yoga master was brilliant and the sunrise and sunset yogas were memorable !! The canyoning / abseiling is definitely not a beginner standard and not for the feint hearted ! The safari lodge in Chitwan was a great end to the trip and the jeep safari was a lot of fun - baby rhinos and elephants were the highlight
Tips
- buy some leech socks for the trip . they are all over your shoes and legs on day 3 of trek
- indulge in a massage after the trek - c 30 pounds for 90 mins
- trekking poles are very useful - used mine all the time
- portable speaker and pack of cards good for the evenings at the Tea house
- easy to change GBP / USD to local currencies
- UK plug works in most places
overall - great trip and would 100 percent recommend … lovely culture and people.
Hi Xenia, Great to hear you loved your adventure in Nepal! Clearly the mix of acitivities was a big positive for you and we have a lot more MBA trips that offer this kind of experience. As others in your group have mentioned, the canyoning activity wasn't delivered as well as it should have been, the local host team are looking at this now to ensure future customer safety. All your feedback has been shared with them, it really helps the guides and the trip experience to improve (e.g. they are looking into providing leech socks during the trek). Thank you. James - MBA Operations Team
mountains, memories & momos
What a trip! Our guide Sanjeet was wonderful throughout and made every effort to answer all of our questions, crafted a well-paced and exciting itinerary and had us laughing from start to finish. Beautiful wildlife, delicious food and the friendliest locals who sought to accommodate in any way they could.
Hiking was a wonderful way to see the stunning variety of scenery Nepal has to offer & posed a decent challenge in parts (balanced nicely by the yoga sessions), and the jungle resort/safari in Chitwan proved a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of the trip’s more dynamic first half.
The rafting totally exceeded expectations, with the instructors striking a perfect balance between having fun and keeping us safe and informed. The canyoning sadly didn’t go as smoothly, but through no fault of MBA or our guide – both of whom listened closely to our feedback and will no doubt make the necessary changes for the next trip.
What also made the experience for me was our group dynamic – the most interesting & friendly mix of people who constantly looked out for one another and made even the trickiest (and less glamorous) parts of the trip feel like a breeze. Thank you all for a wonderful first taste of Nepal!
Hi Olivia, Fantastic to hear you had such a great trip to Nepal, hopefully the first of many! We've shared all your feedback with the local team, they really appreciate it. You're right about the canyoning, that will be improved going forwards based on the feedback that's been received. Customer safety is our highest priority, as it is for all our Hosts. Can't Recommend This Trip Enough!
This was my first trip with Much Better Adventures and I cannot recommend the Ultimate Adventure through Nepal enough!
I loved the diversity of the itinerary which was an excellent blend of time in cities, time on the river, time in the mountains and time in the jungle. We covered a large part of the country in a short amount of time, however the trip never felt rushed at all. There were a few longer van rides but nothing that a little anti-nausea medication couldn't fix.
Sanjeet, our lead guide, who was with us for all 10 days, is a true gem. He did an excellent job keeping us entertained and his passion for tourism came through in every interaction. All of the supporting guides throughout each of our activities were really great too.
I enjoyed each of the hotels we stayed at with the ones in Kathmandu and Pokhora being very centrally located to all the bars and restaurants. The resort in Chitwan National Park was exceptional and the most perfect way to end our trip.
A few notes for consideration: The leeches were quite bad on the last day of trekking - leech socks could possibly help mitigate this. Also, canyoning was quite scary however having a higher guide to guest ratio and more concrete direction from the guides would make it feel more comfortable.
Overall, I was very impressed with this trip, given it was only the second time they ran it. If you want an incredible introduction to all Nepal has to offer, this is the trip for you!
Hi Alexandra, So glad you enjoyed your first MBA trip and your time in Nepal. It is such a special place and this trip is intended to demonstrate how varied and beautiful the country and its people are. Your feedback is very helpful, the local host team have taken it on board and they are looking at making several improvements for the future (e.g. providing leech socks). Regarding the canyoning, this should have been delivered better and we're sorry that was your experience of it. The local team are reviewing this thoroughly to ensure it meets/exceeds our high safety standards, and if not, it will be changed. Additional guides and better guidance are sensible recommendations. Thank you. We hope you'll travel with MBA again soon! James - MBA Operations Team
Wow ~ What an adventure through Nepal
The ultimate adventure through Nepal delivered just this and more. A fantastic and beautiful country, lovely people and a trip which allowed us see and experience it to the full within a clever and packed itinerary. The food was great and the various types of accommodation, from the rustic teahouses, the camping, hotels to the glorious Chitwan Jungle resort added to the adventure. Our guide (and leader), Sangeet, was amazing. He organised everything, explained, listened and led and nothing was too much.
Each activity offered something different to all on the trip and the memories of the river rafting, hiking, safari and wildlife tour will, I'm sure, remain with the group for a long time. The canyoning could, and I'm sure will, have elements tightened up, but this shouldn't detract from an excellent memorable trip with a fantastic group of travellers.
If you have a travel bucket list, put this trip on it. . . . you will not be disappointed!
Hi Julian, We really appreciate your feedback, all of it gets shared with the local host team so they can keep improving every trip. As several members of your group have mentioned, the canyoning activity is something that needs attention and is currently under review. Customer safety is our highest priority, as it is for all our Hosts. Thank you and we hope you travel with MBA again soon! James - MBA Operations Team
Great trip with a fabulous bunch of people and the best guide!
This was my sixth MBA adventure and it did not disappoint. A perfect blend of varied activities with a great group of people. Highlights were the rafting ( I was nervous but it was so well organised!) the hike and the cozy evenings at the tea houses ( take your cards to play over your beer!) - as others have mentioned the canyoning needed greater supervision - was very scary - not helped by the late season bad weather.
Accomodation was good - loved the campsite, tea houses- basic but adequate - and the safari lodge was a welcome bit of luxury at the end of the trip.
Will miss the card games with the group and the sharing of stories and the morning and evening yoga in beautiful settings. Sanjeet was the BEST guide and took great care of us at all times 🌟
Amazing trip through Nepal
What an amazing trip ! We have done and seen so much in 11 days. Great variety of activities. Excellent tour guide. Sanjeet was very knowledgeable. He has thought us a lot about Nepal. Great group. We had a lot if fun. I loved this trip very much. Can highly recommend.
A really good mix of
A really good mix of activities that was well paced across the trip. Our tour leader was lovely and brilliant throughout the trip. The hike was a fantastic highlight (despite the leeches - we’ve suggested leech socks or at least a warning for future groups). It felt like we got to see more of the country than we would have if we’d just hiked. There were a couple of issues with the canyoning that we’ve fed bank for future groups but even that didn’t spoil an overall fantastic trip.
Incredible adventure with the best guide – Sanjeet!
This trip was an unforgettable mix of adventure, culture, and nature - from the rafting the to trekking and exploring the jungles. Every day brought something new and exciting, whilst keeping a well-balanced pace and enough time to rest in between. The whole experience was made even better thanks to our amazing tour leader, Sanjeet. He was patient, kind, super knowledgeable, and always made sure everyone felt supported and included.
The food throughout was excellent—fresh, tasty, and with plenty of variety. Trekking accommodation was basic but totally charming, and the local hosts were incredibly warm and welcoming. A special mention for the Jungle Villa in Chitwan - a perfect place to bring the trip to an end.
Only thing to watch out for is the canyoning - definitely not for the faint hearted and some improvements from the provider needed.
If you’re thinking about exploring Nepal, do it—and hope you get Sanjeet as your guide!
Multi-activity and location adventure - great way to experience Nepal.
Such friendly polite and helpful people - true adventure with slightly scary canyoning (I ended up upside down and another group member got stuck) but the guides knew their stuff and we were in safe hands. Loved the close proximity to Rhino on safari. Hiking was easy. (Described as moderate.) But they modified it slightly for me - slow pace uphill so may not have been pre-modification.
Unforgettable
The itinerary was very well crafted. The guides were incredibly experienced, helpful and kind. Rafting, trekking, yoga, canyoning, safari, good food, great people, unbelievable nature sights, sunrise over the Himalayas, jungle, river, waterfalls, this trip has it all. Nepal is a very special place on Earth. Thank you for a wonderful trip.

Incredible snapshot of Nepal’s scenic diversity
We were the first group to take part in this new trip and it did not disappoint. I have travelled to the Himalayas before but did not have the time to explore other parts of this incredible country. The trip takes you from rafting along the Trisuli, trekking through forests from Pokhara to Panchase and later to a beautiful spot in Chitwan where there’s time to relax and regroup whilst admiring the beautiful wildlife. Our guide Sanjeet was fantastic- so knowledgeable about each area and providing local insight into cultural influences at each location. I have been on MBA trips before and they have definitely created a perfect trip for anyone wanting to gain a glimpse of how diverse and unique Nepal is. Every guide or leader we encountered along the way was so kind and helpful, encouraging us to enjoy every moment whilst also providing support whenever needed. Having yoga as part of the trekking section was much needed and a perfect way to start the day. I am sure the trip will become a permanent part of the company offering- it’s utterly brilliant. I am looking forward to coming back to Nepal to explore further.

A fantastic journey through Nepal
This trip was unbelievable, unforgettable and unbeatable! I didn’t really know what to expect as had never been on a group holiday before but I can honestly say that this trip was perfect.
The rafting, trekking, canyoning and safari were great. Accommodation was excellent and all staff, guides and instructors took great care of us - going way beyond anything I have experienced previously.
If you want to experience all of Nepal and like adventurous activities then I would highly recommend the Ultimate Adventure trip. It was amazing!

Meals
Meals are not included while on the trekking section of this trip, allowing you to choose your preferred dish at the local teahouses depending on your appetite. How much you spend per day will vary according to your choice of meal, but generally people spend between $15-$25 per person per day on meals and hot drinks. Below is an approximate breakdown of some items:
- Dal baht: $4 to $7
- Chow mein: $2 to $4
- Eggs: $2 to $4
- Toast: $1.50 to $3
- Tea/hot chocolate: $1 to $3
- Chocolate bars: $2 to $4
Teahouses will provide cold water free of charge; however, it will need to be treated to enable you to drink it. Please read the drinking water FAQ for our advice.
Miscellaneous costs
When you stay at the teahouses on the trekking section of this trip, other extra costs to be considered are:
- Shower: $2-$4
- WiFi: $2-5
- Electricity: $2-5
Tips
Tips are not included in the trip cost. These are entirely at your discretion but there is an expectation to tip for good service. Your guide will help with advice, however we suggest the below as a guideline, shared between the group:
- Approximately $100-120 (USD) per person for the trip, depending on the size of your group ($50-60 of this will go to the main tour leader, with the remainder to be shared amongst the other activity guides and staff).
Of course, you are free to tip more or less, and the amount should be reflective of your perception of service and quality – a tip is not compulsory and should only be given when you receive excellent service.
Personal Expenses
You know your own spending habits best, so please budget an appropriate amount for things like optional meals and drinks, shopping, optional activities, and laundry.
Travel insurance
Travel insurance is compulsory for all of our adventures and you are required to provide your policy information before departing. Your insurance should include adequate protection for overseas medical treatment, evacuation/repatriation, your baggage and equipment and the specific activities involved on your adventure. We also strongly recommend it includes cancellation and curtailment insurance, should you be unable to join your trip for specific reasons such as illness. Our recommended travel insurance provider is Campbell Irvine, as their insurance offers all of the above.
Visas
Visa requirements often change, and you are responsible for obtaining any required visas for this trip. Please check with your nearest embassy or consulate for up-to-date advice.

We partner with the World Land Trust to ensure this trip achieves Net-Zero emissions. We also support their Buy an Acre programme, helping local communities to buy and protect natural habitats in perpetuity.
What's the number?
It works out on average at 288kg of CO2 emissions per person, including all local transport, accommodation, food, activities, guides, staff and office operations.
The only thing it doesn’t include right now is flights and travel to the destination. We do make an overall estimate across all our customers separately, but as we don’t book flights, have customers from all corners of the world, and no way of reliably knowing their travel plans, we simply can’t include an individual number in the figure on display here. We’ve got a goal to fix that, so that when you book, there is a way to measure and mitigate the carbon emitted by your flight too.
But what does the number mean?
Yep, hard to picture eh? To give you an idea:
- Driving 1000 miles/1609km would be approximately 281kg of CO2 in an average car (or 140.5kg per person, if there were two of you in it).
- A return economy class flight between London and New York would be approximately 1619kg (1.66 tonnes) per person.
- 10 trees in a temperate forest are estimated to remove approximately 250kg of CO2 from the air in a period of 5-10 years.
What are we doing about it?
Our trips are relatively low-carbon by design, and we're working with all our hosts to develop long term carbon reduction plans. We partner with the World Land Trust to ensure this trip achieves Net-Zero emissions. We also support their Buy an Acre programme, helping local communities to buy and protect natural habitats in perpetuity, ensuring the protection of the reserve and its wildlife.
Want to know more?
Amazingly, no international travel company has ever publicly published their carbon measurements before, as far as we know. We believe that must change, quickly. So we’re openly sharing the method we used in the hope that other companies will be able to more easily follow suit and build on what we've done so far. You'll find it all here.
Marta Marinelli, raised in Italy’s serene Prosecco Hills, dreamt of global adventures, inspired by her father's travel stories. Her passion evolved into a career, backed by a decade of studies including degrees in international tourism and destination management. She’s worked in the adventure travel sector since 2012, living in Italy, the UK, and now sunny Portugal.
Over twenty years, Marta has explored over 55 countries, visiting remote areas like Ghana, Rwanda, Sao Tome and Principe, Haiti and Nepal’s Upper Mustang region. As a Senior Adventure Expansion Manager at Much Better Adventures, she focuses on creating life-changing experiences, ranging from multi-activity adventures, challenging treks to ultimate adventures in iconic places. She loves the challenge of finding the best local adventure hosts around the world, collaborating on adventures that offer genuine immersion, pushing beyond the beaten path and working on exclusive itineraries that challenge your comfort zone.
What makes her tick? Enabling people to live adventure-rich lives while positively impacting and empowering local communities around the world, generating sustainable opportunities for both the host, guides, community, and the environment.
Although most teahouses and hotels have the option to buy bottled water, we advise against it to reduce the use of plastic. There are a wide range of products available these days which are more effective than traditional purification tablets - some trekkers like to use UV handheld devices such as a Steripen but other options are available.
This trip is scheduled to run outside the monsoon season so severe weather disruptions are unlikely to occur. However, should external factors, (such as severe weather conditions) cause alterations to what is possible, then the ordering of the above itinerary and/or the exact number of days spent in each location may have to change. The local host will endeavour to ensure that any replacement activities are of a similar style. One internal flight is included on this trip in order to make most of your time in Kathmandu at the end of your trip and avoid a third long road transfer. Please provide your passport details soon after booking so your seats can be reserved. Should the flight get cancelled, your host will arrange a transfer back to the capital by road (approx. 6-7 hrs drive).
Any luggage not needed for the short trek can be left at your hotel in Pokhara.
This trip includes a one way domestic flight from Bharatpur to Kathmandu, operared by Buddha Air.
Nepal's mountainous terrain and weather make for challenging flying conditions and sadly more incidents (including fatalities) occur here than in other countries. Since 2013 the EU has banned all Nepalese domestic airlines from flying within EU airspace in order to raise awareness of the poor safety record (although no Nepalese airlines were operating routes within the EU prior to the ban). You should be aware that flying in Nepal is an identified risk: please consider this carefully before booking. Additional information can be found on the Aviation Safety Network entry for Nepal as well as the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office travel advice for Nepal
Domestic airlines in Nepal are generally not accredited by any internationally recognised safety audit systems and the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal does not operate to the same standards as those of Western nations.
What does MBA do about this?
MBA collaborates with other UK travel companies that arrange for independent air-safety auditors to visit Nepal annually to assess the local airlines. MBA then only uses the carriers that were approved as part of the most recent audit. If any concerns are subsequently raised about an approved airline between audits, we put them on hold until the auditors are satisfied that safety standards are being met.
You should aim to keep your luggage as light as possible, not exceeding 20kg which is the weight limit on the internal flight.
You will be joined by one tour leader from the trip start to end, as well as local specialist guides including rafting, yoga and canyoning instructors. You will also have some porters during the trek (on a 2:1 basis), who will help carry your overnight kit if desired.
We've sourced some great optional activities for you to do in and around Kathmandu should you wish to explore the area further. Please discuss these directly with your host, who will be able to book them for you.
Cook Like a Local: This short cooking workshop (approximately 3 hours) teaches you how to cook popular Nepali dishes like momos and dal bhat. You'll meet your teacher and accompany them shopping, then head to the kitchen and learn to cook alongside them. Price: pay what you think the workshop is worth!
Shop Local: A 2-3 hour guided exploration of the markets of Kathmandu. Learn about the vendors that line the narrow and crowded alleyways and witness everything you could ever imagine being sold, haggled, or bargained for. It’s a great chance to learn about the melting pot of cultures that exist in Kathmandu. Price: $9-$50 per person, depending on group size.
Master of the Arts: Patan Durbar Square is popular for its handicrafts, and this trip will explore the local factories where they are produced. You’ll visit 2-3 factories and learn about the traditional processes they use and see artwork being produced. Price: $14-$59 per person, depending on group size.
Introduction to Shamanism: Shamanism, which is believed to heal many diseases, is not practiced widely these days. However, this trip enables you to meet a practicing Guru and learn all about this age-old tradition. You’ll visit a small house for an introduction, followed by lunch and then a drumming session where you’ll learn the importance of rhythm to healing. Price: $90-$150 per person, depending on group size.
This trip operates in areas where daytime temperatures can reach extreme highs, where limited shade and high humidity can also be a factor. These conditions can affect physical performance and increase the risk of dehydration or heat-related illness. Your guide will adjust the pace and monitor the group closely, but hydration, proper clothing, and sun protection are essential.
Before travelling, consider your ability to be active in high temperatures and consult a medical professional if you have concerns – especially if you have any cardiovascular or heat-sensitive conditions. Arriving a day or two prior to the trip may help you adjust gradually to the heat.
Sure can! Over 70% of our travellers travel solo, it’s a great way to meet like-minded people.
Our team of Adventure Hunters co-create exclusive adventures which are run by highly vetted, specialist hosts. The trip is run by our trusted host partner in the destination. We only work with independent, local, in-destination experts who know the very best places to explore and how to stay safe. Read more information about the local teams we partner with. You’ll be introduced to the host straight after making a booking via the Much Better Adventures platform.
Much Better Adventures refer to the UK Government’s official travel advice when designing trips and monitoring trip operations. We recommend that all customers are familiar with the practical information provided on the Government’s FCDO website, where current travel advice can be found by searching for the applicable destination(s).
For customers joining this trip from other international destinations – please also read the official travel advice applicable to your country of residence/origin, as this may differ.
We recommend checking out the country-specific information and also talking to a travel nurse.
We automatically convert prices from the local currency that a host receives to your chosen currency. We update our exchange rates on a daily basis so this does mean that prices displayed on the site are subject to currency fluctuations, which is why you may see them change over time.
If you wish to change the currency you pay in, head to the bottom of the page.

Exploring Nepal with MBA: A Perfect Blend of Thrill and Culture
Adam C. December 2025
"This MBA trip is perfect for anyone wanting to experience Nepal’s rich culture, stunning mountains, and exciting outdoor activities. It was my third MBA trip, and like the others, the people made it truly special! The tour pace was excellent, with minimal travel time between destinations. Our guide, Kush, was outstanding—he kept us informed, explained everything in detail, and made sure everyone (including himself) felt part of the group. Highlights for me included: - A multi-day rafting adventure - Trekking and staying in cozy tea houses - Thrilling canyoning - Spotting a rhino in the wild - Packing If you’re looking for an unforgettable mix of adventure and culture, this trip is a must!"
An amazing adventure for MBA newbies and seasoned group travellers!

"This was my first MBA trip, and it has set the bar incredibly high. On to the next!"

"What a trip! Thank you all for a wonderful first taste of Nepal!"
